RPL Course 6 - APCO International Leadership and History
Course Objective:
To familiarize the student with the governing documents of APCO International, to facilitate understanding and appreciation of the history of the association and to foster the ability to communicate effectively with government officials and leaders.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Understand the governing documents of APCO International and the role they play in the association
- Find information in the Bylaws and Policy Manual
- Understand how the association came to be and the contributions of early leaders
- Use available tools to find information about APCO’s history
- Understand the regional designations of APCO
- Write a position statement
- Write an issue paper
- Write a letter to a congressional leader to advocate/support a position or issue
