The Introduction to the Certified Public-Safety Executive program provides students with an overview of major themes in executive leadership.  Themes include environmental issues in which the organization must operate, and internal issues necessary to the functioning of the organization.  Students then progress through the distinctive concepts of leadership so that they can examine models and approaches to the exercise of leadership.  In the final weeks of the course, students focus on the details of situational leadership and adaptive leadership, the emerging leadership issues of the 21st century and the essential role of ethics in leadership.
